Ka Lā

Ka Lā means "the Sun" in Hawaiian. He was a Bull Terrier, born on 10 April 2016, and he was ours until the end of February 2026. For his last three years he wore a GPS collar, and it kept a record of him: 888 walks, 387 miles, more than five million steps. His longest walk was 5.6 miles, on 25 February 2024. The map below shows every one of them. The day after he died, KaHoku came home, and wore his collar.
